Bringing your family to France? The process differs depending on your category 🇫🇷👨‍👩‍👧

Translated from Bengali.

Many Bangladeshi expatriates living in France want to know how to bring their family to France. The process is quite long and complex, and it is not the same for everyone. The process changes depending on which category you are in. In this video, I have explained three categories step by step:

1️. Refugee / protection subsidiaire

✅ After receiving protection, you can apply for family visas immediately

❌ You do not need to show proof of income or housing; you only need to have your decision

📌 3 steps: application at the France Embassy in Bangladesh → sending information and documents to the Ministry → call from the Embassy, passport submission and result

2️. Salaried worker / titre de séjour

Before applying to OFII, 3 conditions must be met:

✔️ Sufficient income over the last 12 months (according to the number of family members)

✔️ Housing suitable for the family to live in

✔️ At least 18 months of legal residence in France

📌 The steps: OFII home visit → authorization from the préfecture → visa application at the France Embassy

⚠️ The decision to grant or refuse a visa belongs only to the France Embassy. The préfecture or OFII do not make this decision.

3️. French nationality

💍 If married: transcription of the marriage in France → visa application at the Embassy

💍 If unmarried: certificat de capacité à mariage → marriage in Bangladesh and transcription → visa application
